8/22/2019 Mmd Import Cities Skyline
This is a SketchUp extension for exporting FBX or Collada models to be used withColossal Order's Cities: Skylines.
Import - All the assets (textures, models) to import custom assets in the Asset Editor are placed here. Brushes - Custom made brush textures can be placed here. Cities Skylines Soundtrack - If you have bought the Deluxe version of the game this is were you can find the bonus soundtracks. Oct 10, 2016 It would be a very neat feature to be able to import cities we've made in Cities:Skylines to the Beam engine, complete with terrain textures, buildings, vegetation, and roads. This would make city maps in BeamNG very easy to make!
Cities: Skylines uses the Unity engine which require assets to have a flatmodel hierarchy. Unfortunately SketchUp's FBX exporter adds an extra node evenif all the faces are in the root of the model.
This extension patches the exported FBX model by trying to remove the extranode.
It also checks the model for basic requirements before exporting as well assetting the FBX exporter required for the asset to be imported correctly.
Exported Collada files will import rotated and scaled. This extension willfix this during export.
Additionally it includes a tool to layout a grid to aid in the modelling process.
Beta Version
Note that this is a beta version and might fail to properly patch the exportedmodel.
Note: During export the Model will be scaled and rotated to fit the in-gameneeds!
Units
The wiki indicate that the unitsshould be meters, however, exporting from SketchUp seem to require export unitsset to Centimetres. (It does not matter what your Model Info > Units settingsare as long as you model 1:1 scale.)
It appear Unity do indeed use meters, but some exporters scale up by 100 bydefault. Unity's default import is therefore set to 0.01 which also appear to bethe case with Cities: Skylines.
